This error can occur when the
Xlive.dll is deleted or corrupt. This error can be tricky and
solutions for it will depend upon the context in which it occurred.
To troubleshoot this .DLL error you should perform the following:

Live. The xlive.dll file will be included in the download from
Micrsoft and this is most likely the easiest fix to this error.
Restore xlive.dll from the
Recycle Bin.
If you've deleted xlive.dll and
emptied the Recycle Bin, you may be able use a free file recovery
program to retrieve the xlive.dll
Run a virus scan on your
computer. This file has been known to become infected by malware
previously.
Use System Restore to undo any
recent changes in your system.
Reinstall the program that uses
the xlive.dll (Windows Live, Microsoft Games, etc.)
Update the drivers for hardware
devices.
Roll back any drivers that were
installed prior to the error.
Install the latest Windows
Updates.
Run a repair installation of
Windows (This will require a Windows CD).
The first solution should fix the
xlive.dll error, but if none of these solutions worked, you may want
to try a clean installation of Windows. |
