This error
usually occurs due to an incomplete value in the registry. To fix
this .DLL error, perform the following...
Click
Start
Type
regedit into the search box (for Vist/7); Use “Run” to
open regedit (XP & earlier)
Navigate
to the following registry key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main
Export
this key to a new folder on your desktop in case you make any
mistakes in editing the registry.
After
exporting the key, delete the Search Bar value from the Main key.
Creating a
new folder on the Desktop or within Windows Explorer may cause the
following error message.
"EXPLORER
caused an invalid page fault in module SHELL32.DLL at <memory
address>"
"Microsoft
Internet Explorer There was an internal error and one of the windows
you were using will be closed. It is recommended that you save your
work, close all of your programs, and then restart the computer."
These
errors occur due to issues in the following registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVe
rsion\Explorer\StreamMRU
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVe
rsion\Explorer\StreamMRU
To correct
these errors, navigate to these keys and export them to the folder
you created earlier. After the keys have been exported, delete these
keys in the registry.
Performing
these actions should correct the problem with shell32.dll, if it does
not, you may need to do a clean install of Windows. |
