Exactly a Blue Screen Error is
- How to Easily Fix it
Just about every Windows user is
familiar with the infamous ‘Blue Screen of Death’ or
BSOD. The page with the screen full of confusing white text against a
beautiful peacock blue background that pops up right when you least
expect it and ends up losing all your work to that point because
there’s no way to avoid a system reboot after it. That is if
you are lucky enough to have the issue go away following that reboot,
but sometimes, the problem has deep roots and won’t go away
easily, only getting more and more frequent until you’re
convinced there’s something wrong with your computer. And while
you may be right, the problem may lie elsewhere and not really a
defect with your computer.
The Blue Screen of Death occurs once
Windows encounters a critical problem from which it cannot recover
without halting operations to a stop after posting the diagnosis of
the problem in the form of the Blue Screen error. In more recent
versions of Windows, the remnants of the PC’s memory till that
point are saved to a dump file for analysis later by an expert.
Now let’s look at the causes
and their fixes.
Cause: Pretty much the
number one cause has to do with drivers. Drivers form the nervous
system of your computer, bridging the communications between Windows
and the devices in your computer. If any of your drivers happen to
be out-of-date, corrupt or in some cases, the completely wrong
driver itself, it will send Windows for a tizzy when it’s
called upon to perform a task and result in a critical error that
ends up with a Blue Screen error.
Fix: There is an
enormous number of devices in any computer today. Trying to uncover
which device’s driver is causing the Blue Screen error can be
very difficult and time-consuming even for experts, let alone
general computer users. However, we took a lot of computers that had
malfunctioning drivers causing Blue Screen errors, and installed and
ran a software called DriverUpdate on them. What DriverUpdate does is
search out the latest drivers for every device in your computer from
it’s vast internet database, known as a "cloud" and installs the drivers for you. This
search seeks out the safest and best-tested
drivers to guarantee system stability.

Cause: Registry errors are one
cause. Without going into too much detail, the registry is set of
entries and instructions made by every program and application that
is installed and running on your system. So if any of these
registry entries are somehow corrupted or deleted, the program or
device that depends on it is likely to malfunction and result in an
Fix: Only experts with thorough
knowledge on how to edit the registry can repair it. Even so, it can
be beyond repair sometimes. In such cases, there are usually two
alternatives. One is to use Windows System Restore to go back to a
restore point from an older date before the registry was affected, but this can be slow and cumbersome.

Cause: Memory refers to
your Random Access Memory (RAM) modules, which are used to store
temporary data that Windows uses during regular operation. If your
memory is defective, it will lose the information that Windows
stores on it periodically during operation and when Windows wants to
access that information and doesn’t find it, it won’t be
able to continue with the task and result in a Blue Screen error.
Fix: We have compiled a guide on fixing memory problems.
